Asset Management n8n Workflow Automation PoC

Built the deployment package and PDF-to-PPT automation workflows for an n8n PoC with an asset-management client at InfoGrab. The stack ran on Rocky Linux with rootless containers, n8n, a reverse proxy, and a PDF parsing service. I designed the asynchronous upload/status/download flow that turns a large PDF into two PPT outputs: reference-source and structured-review.

Highlights

Packaged the external/internal n8n PoC deployment: Compose, environment templates, setup script, and air-gap image import guide
Designed the PDF-to-PPT dual-output workflow: reference-source (one source page per slide) plus structured-review (editable review deck)
Split large-PDF processing into four asynchronous webhooks: upload, worker, status, and download
Validated the upload -> status -> download flow and output package against the customer-demo sample
Prepared the customer handoff package: demo curl cheatsheet, runbooks, workflow JSON, checksums, and diagnostic script

Designed the flow from PDF parsing to layout planning, PPTX rendering, and zip packaging
Implemented dual output: reference-source and structured-review decks generated from one input
Validated the output structure and download flow against the customer-demo sample

Asynchronous User Flow

Upload webhook returns a job_id plus status/download URLs and invokes the worker asynchronously
Status webhook exposes queued/parsing/layout/build/compress/done stages and progress
Download webhook returns a zip containing both PPT outputs and metrics for completed jobs
